Course Description

This course provides students a detailed examination of the national counterterrorism and homeland security strategies, policies, and practices employed by a variety of countries in Europe and Western Asia. Understanding howother countries cope with the terrorism phenomenon while balancing the need for security and the demands of a free society is the central theme of the course. The course includes a survey of counterterrorism policy responses in liberal democracies across the globe.
