Course Description
This course provides an introduction to the biology of the diverse group of animals known as marine mammals (whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals, sea lions, walruses, manatees, sea otters, and polar bears), including evolution, diversity, life history, physiology, ecology, communication, and behavior, Current research, events, and policy issues will also be ad- dressed. Special attention will be given to marine environmental protection measures to avoid ship collisions with the North Atlantic right whale.
